Just wanted to post these few photographs together from recent outings locally here in Sonoma and Marin County. I hope everyone is having a great weekend :)

End of Summer

Still pretty warm here in Northern California, tank-top and sandal weather, but it is starting to look like autumn, with the colors shifting in the lower evening light. It's been a very long dry spell here and hoping that the rains will come and replenish this parched earth soon. I notice with just a slight feel to fall in the air I am shifting too, looking forward to diving into more hours of creative projects and more reading for sure.

Hot Air Balloons - Sonoma County California

I've been meaning to get to this hot air balloon event for the last few years. 

This year I finally motivated to get up at what felt like the middle of the night, when it was still dark, to get to get there by 6am, It was so worth it! So dreamy and magical to see these giant balloons fill with air from a huge fan and a giant flame to then just quietly lift off softly into the sky, with just the sound of the fire occasionally to keep it going. I imagine the passengers in these balloons had the loveliest view over the wine country in the early morning light.

Foggy California Coast

Escaping the 90 degree heat in Sebastopol, at the coast for the day, so refreshing ;) So quiet. The sweet smell of the lupines and lots of wildflowers in bloom.

Water , sand and sky

We spent some time at the beach yesterday ( cold and windy as usual )
sweaters ,windbreakers and warm hats needed ......
Then drove back towards home , inland about 15 miles ,
and it was so hot and summery, we had a picnic in the park , back to tank tops and sunhats .
It's been so warm this week , in the upper 80's ... so nice that summer is still lingering
If we want a taste of winter all we have to do is drive to the beach :)
